David Shechner

Assistant Professor, Pharmacology

David received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his PhD in Biochemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His thesis work in Dave Bartel’s lab focused on better understanding RNAs. After completion of his thesis, David continued his research in Dr. John Rinn’s lab, where he developed a variety of CRISPR-based technologies.

Jessica Gianopulos

Co-mentored with Sita Kugel

Jessica received her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Washington. She joined the University of Washington’s MCB program, where she will pursue her interest in cancer research and nuclear architecture.

Ashley Tsue

Graduate Student, Pharmacology

Ashley received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Princeton University in 2017. She joined the University of Washington’s Pharmacology Department in 2018, where she will pursue Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Evan Kania

Pharmac

Chris received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Washington. He joined the Shechner lab in 2018, where he aims to better understand the assembly process of the nucleolus.

Briana Del Rosario

Undergraduate Researcher

Briana currently working towards her Bachelors in Molecular, Cellular, and Development in Biology. She is currently working on investigating the nucleolus and analyzing the impact of RNA on chromatin states.
